Gli U2 hanno pubblicato una nuova versione non solo ri-registrata ma anche “ri-immaginata” del brano “Pride (In The Name Of Love)“.
La canzone, originariamente pubblicata nel 1984 in “The Unforgettable Fire“, farà parte dell’album “Songs Of Surrender“, una raccolta di 40 brani che attraversano la carriera degli U2, in uscita il 17 marzo 2023.
L’idea dietro questa nuova veste di vecchi brani nasce dalla necessità di dare loro un significato attuale, il chitarrista della band The Edge ha spiegato:
La maggior parte di quello che abbiamo scritto e registrato lo abbiamo fatto quando eravamo dei ragazzi. Adesso significano qualcosa di diverso per noi.
Songs Of Surrender
Il nuovo album degli U2 ripropone in una nuova veste vecchi brani come “With Or Without You“, “One“, “Beautiful Day“, “Sunday Bloody Sunday” e “Invisible“. Il tutto condito con nuovi arrangiamenti e in alcuni casi con nuovi testi.
Su questo nuovo progetto, The Edge ha dichiarato:
La musica ti permette di viaggiare nel tempo. Siamo stai curiosi di scoprire come sarebbe stato portare le nostre prime canzoni ai giorni nostri dando loro lo stile del ventunesimo secolo.
